As explained in our article dedicated to the creation of custom fields, smart fields allow you to track contract data and key information. They are real variables that you can insert into your documents.

This is where the power of Tomorro comes into play! In addition to being able to use these smart fields to filter your Repository, create views and validation workflows, you can insert them into your contract templates.

Inserting them into your templates allows you to create a form with fields to be filled in, thus allowing your operational staff to gain autonomy in managing the document.

The external party to whom you send the document will know very easily what information they need to complete if needed.

💡 To be able to insert one or more fields in a template, you must have previously added a document to your template.

Why insert fields in my templates?

  • A form is generated when teams use a template in which fields are inserted. From a legal point of view, you gain control.

👉🏼 Each inserted field has a corresponding field in the form (as below):

  • The field insertion also offers you the possibility to have the external party fill in the form, the information to be filled in is clear. You and your counterparty save time in filling the contract.

  • An automatic follow-up of the field values once the document is signed. No more manual entry of key contract information!

How do I insert a field into my template?

Inserting a field into a template is done directly from the document.

To do this, go to the "Templates" tab and click to enter the template in which you wish to insert fields.

There are 3 ways to insert a field:

  1. Place your cursor where you want to insert the field and click on the field symbol, as in the image below:

2. Select a word or group of words and the field symbol appears in the shortcut bar:

3. Use the shortcut by writing an "@" in the text :

Once you have clicked on the field symbol, a drop-down list appears with your existing fields, those you have already created.

You also have the option to create a new one from there.

Choose the field and insert it by clicking on it.
